The Province is investing $11,380, which will be split between nine local horticultural and agricultural societies in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - Local MPP Ernie Hardeman announced funding today for the agricultural and horticultural societies in Oxford County.
Hardmen says the Government will provide them with a cheque for $11,380.
"Our agricultural and horticultural societies play a critical role in educating Ontarians on the importance of agriculture. Their timeless traditional events such as annual fall fairs and livestock shows are an important as celebrations of our rural way of life."
The money will be divided between nine local societies in Oxford County. They include the Drumbo Agricultural Society, Embro and Zorra Agricultural Society, Ingersoll & District Horticultural Society, Tavistock Agricultural Society, Tavistock and Area Horticultural Society, Tillsonburg Horticultural Society, Tillsonburg Tri-County Agricultural Society, Woodstock Agricultural Society, and Woodstock Horticultural Society.
The funding is part of the Agricultural and Horticultural Support and Recovery Funding Initiative.
