Oxford MPP elect Ernie Hardeman's experience just got a confidence boost with a conservative majority, he believes this will bode well for Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - In his seventh term serving Oxford County as MPP, Ernie Hardeman is optimistic now than ever before about the future of the province with a conservative majority government.
In his 23 years at Queens Park, 15 of those years he has been part of the opposition. But the past is the past and it is not what Hardemen wants to talk about. After the results last night, Hardeman was steadfast in his support for the incoming premier elect Doug Ford and the future with Ford as Premier.
"One of the things I don't want to talk about is where I have been, I want to talk about where I am going. We are going forward with Premier Ford, to do the things he said during the election that we were going to accomplish to make this a more affordable and more prosperous province for the people of Ontario."
As for the NDP's claim that 400 Woodstock jobs would be lost with Ford at the helm, Hardeman says it's completely false and that he is exicited about this government.
There is no denying what having 23 years of experience can bring to any job, that being said, the incumbent MPP's experience just got a confidence boost with a conservative majority now in power. Hardeman believes this will bode well for the county.
"I think PC government is going to mean good news for all of Ontario, including Oxford County. I think it is a great opportunity to have a majority government to take this province in the direction we need it to go."
Ford will become Premier after his swearing-in by the Lieutenant-Governor in the coming weeks. Until then, he’s to be referred to as the “Premier-Designate.” Nonetheless, with Hardeman, Ford has one very experienced representative in the legislature.
