Local MPP Ernie Hardeman states that he was delighted to hear Premier Ford’s announcement at the PC Policy Convention this past weekend that he will seek re-election in 2022.
OXFORD COUNTY - Premier Doug Ford announced he will be seeking re-election in 2022 at the PC Policy Convention this past weekend.
The Convention was held in Niagara Falls at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.
Heart FM has reached out to MPP Ernie Hardeman about his thoughts and in a release he states that he was delighted to hear Premier Ford’s announcement at the PC Policy Convention this past weekend that he will seek re-election in 2022.
“Since our government took office 20 months ago, we have made it our mission to clean up the mess of 15 years of Liberal waste and mismanagement. We were sent to Queen’s Park to once again make Ontario the economic engine of Canada and our plan to make the province work for everyone is succeeding. Since we took office, Ontario has created 307,000 new jobs. When you remove the regulatory burdens and red tape that stifle innovation and you cut taxes to help stimulate growth, you unleash the economic potential of our great province to grow and prosper. That’s exactly what we've done since being elected and that’s what we're going to keep doing to make sure Ontario stays open for business and open for jobs. I'm proud to hear that Doug Ford will be running again in 2022.”
The Convention was marred by thousands of protesters outside the building, protesting cuts under the Ford Government. The rally was organized by the Ontario Federation of Labour on Saturday, outside the P-C Convention at the Scotiabank Convention Centre. The Convention just happened to fall right after the largest single day walkout from teachers in the Province since 1997.
