Ingersoll's Harvest Festival on now through Sunday
INGERSOLL - Ingersoll's Harvest Festival is in full swing with lot of activities planned right through until Sunday.
The annual event is a way for the town to celebrate their agricultural and rural roots.
Economic Development & Tourism Assistant Chelsea Jibb says while the festival started Wednesday, things really heat up Friday.
"In our downtown our merchants will be hosting their annual sidewalk sale from 10:30-4 o'clock and the Kiwanis Club will also be out hosting their annual Hot Dog Day from 11-1pm. It's going to be a great event with fun children's entertainment and great deals!"
Jibb says the activities really kick off this weekend at the Ingersoll Cheese and Agricultural Museum.
"On Saturday the park will host lawn tractor races, threshing demonstrations, a variety of vendors and children's activities as well as live entertainment. New this year we have teamed up with PlayRight Playgrounds to host a movie in the park. We will be Showing Disney's Up. We will be hosting a corn boil where visitors can enjoy fresh corn on the cob while enjoying some live entertainment."
She says the action continues Sunday at Centennial Park.
"Crossroads Alliance Church is hosting a church service in the park starting at 10am as well as a breakfast for the community. They are going to be performing hits from the 50s and 60s as well. Also on Sunday, we will be hosting our annual Classic Car exhibit in the park and we hope to have a number of different types of models and makes out that can satisfy all of your chrome cravings."
Jibb says most of the events are free or admission by donation.
