Health Canada has approved the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for national use.
CANADA - Health Canada has given the green light to another COVID-19 vaccine.
The AstraZeneca vaccine is the third vaccine to be approved for national use in Canada. It was co-developed by researchers at the University of Oxford.
The Trudeau Government has already pre-ordered 20 million doses of it. We'll also receive another 1.9 million doses through the global vaccine-sharing initiative known as COVAX by the end of June.
Health Canada is also reviewing two other vaccines; one from Novavax and another from Johnson and Johnson.
