Two-dose shot approved for Canadian adults.
Another COVID-19 vaccine has been approved for use in Canada.
Health Canada has authorized the two-dose Novavax Nuvaxovid vaccine for people aged 18 and older.
Clinical trails suggest the shot is 90 percent effective in protecting from symptomatic COVID-19 cases, and 100 percent effective in preventing severe disease, according to a release from the agency.
The vaccine's safety and effectiveness for children has not yet been determined.
Health Canada is recommending the two doses be administered 21 days apart.
