The Rotary Clubs in Woodstock sponsor the Heart FM Give Thanks to Your Hospital Radiothon.
WOODSTOCK - Two local Rotary Clubs are teaming up in order to benefit the Heart FM Give Thanks to Your Hospital Radiothon at Woodstock General Hospital.
The Woodstock Rotary Club and the Woodstock Oxford Rotary Club will be sponsoring the radiothon together. All of the proceeds raised on October 12th will benefit the hospital's maternal child unit.
Providing quality child care for mothers and children happens to be one of Rotary International's main goals. Doug Vincent from the Woodstock Oxford Club encourages other clubs in the area to step up and help the cause.
"Any other service groups who are interested, by all means we would challenge them to come out and meet up with us and why not make it a whole service club community event, it doesn't just have to be Rotarians."
Lisa Wells from the Woodstock Rotary Club says the Radiothon falls right in line with the charity events they like to do.
"One of the Rotary International goals is to provide high quality child care for mothers and children."
Heart FM will broadcast live from the Woodstock Hospital lobby from 6am to 6pm, encouraging people to phone in or drop by in person and donate to the cause.
Planning for the Heart FM Give Thanks to Your Hospital Radiothon began over one year ago.
To make a donation on October 12th, you can call 519-421-4255 or in person at the hospital, as volunteers will be accepting donations on site.
