HPPH says Zehrs Country Market in Bayfield and Dashwood's Zehrs Country Market have been closed temporarily as a precaution. There has been a positive case of COVID-19 associated with the Zehrs location in Bayfield, but the risk to the public is low.
PERTH COUNTY - Huron Perth Public Health has temporarily closed two Zehrs locations as a precaution while they conduct a public health investigation.
HPPH has been working closely with the owner of Zehrs Country Market (Market and Bakery) in Bayfield and Zehr’s Country Market in Dashwood.
There has been a positive case of COVID-19 associated with the location in Bayfield. The risk to the public is low, however.
HPPH says any customers who were at the Bayfield Zehrs Country Market on August 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th or 11th is encouraged to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, and schedule for an assessment and a test if necessary.
More updates may be provided as the investigation continues.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Miriam Klassen says the owner of the location is fully cooperating with the health unit.
“The premises owner is fully cooperative and supports the decision to temporarily close while more information is gathered,” says Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer of Health.
It’s important to remember that COVID-19 continues to circulate across Huron-Perth and Ontario.
All residents of Huron-Perth are encouraged to do the following:
· If you experience symptoms of COVID-19, self-isolate and arrange for testing.
· Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly.
· Maintain physical distance of 6 feet/2 metres from anyone not in your social circle.
· Wear a non-medical cloth face covering in indoor public spaces and in settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
The Health Unit phone line has no more information or direction to share at this time with the public. If anyone has questions about symptoms, testing or tracing for COVID-19, they can visit HPPH's website or Ontario's website.
