As of this morning, the Coldest Night of the Year events in Woodstock, Ingersoll, and Tillsonburg raised a combined total of $239,915.
OXFORD COUNTY - It was a very successful Coldest Night of the Year for Oxford County.
Hundreds of people participated in the walks in Woodstock, Tillsonburg, and Ingersoll on Saturday. As of this morning, those events raised a combined total of $239,915.
Woodstock raised just over $159,000 for Operation Sharing, which runs the shelters in Woodstock and Tillsonburg as well as the Food for Friends program.
Ingersoll and Tillsonburg raised money for United Way Oxford, with Ingersoll bringing in $42,933 and Tillsonburg raising $37,974. The funds raised in Tillsonburg will support the Lighthouse transitional housing program.
The nationwide campaign raised $13.3 million with all of those funds supporting organizations that help those experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.
