HURON COUNTY -- Huron OPP are searching for a two year-old child who went missing Tuesday night.
Police say a group of children were playing in a corn field on a property on Whalen Line, east of Centralia. Around 8:00 pm, the children returned from playing but the two-year old girl was not with the group. Despite the best efforts of the family and neighbours, they could not locate the girl.
OPP say they received the call around 10:30 pm.
OPP have closed some areas roads as they coordinate a search for the missing child -- a West Region Canine Unit have been called in and a helicopter from the Canadian Forces Base Trenton are assisting. Volunteer firefighters are also performing a grid search of the area.
