Serious crash closed major Oxford County roadway
Two people were taken to hospital this afternoon after a three vehicle crash on Highway 19 near Salford.
The collision involved a pick-up a transport and a car, at around 3:45 this afternoon.
OPP Constable Lisa Narancsik told Heart FM from the scene that police had pieced together what happened. "For some reason the pick-up truck appears to have veered into the oncoming transport truck. It bounced off of it, and collided with a car that was travelling behind the transport truck."
The pick-up ended up rolling into the roadside ditch.
The male driver of the pick-up suffered serious injuries, while the female driver of the car had minor injuries, but both were taken to hospital.
Highway 19 was closed for about 2-hours (re-opened at 5:40) between Salford Rd. and McBeth Rd., while crews cleaned up the scene.
There's no word on charges, as police are continuing the investigation.
