In July Ontario Works cheques and statements will need to be picked up in person in light of a possible post disruption.
OXFORD COUNTY - People who usually receive Ontario Works cheques, bank statements, and monthly drug cards will not be getting them in the mail this July. They will not be mailed out due to a potential Canada Post disruption.
Manager with Human Services Lynn Chenier tells Heart FM how those effected can pick up their cheques and statements.
"Clients will be able to pick up their cheques on June 30th at either our main office in Woodstock, the office in Tillsonburg, or the office in Ingersoll. Based on where their client service worker works out of, that will be the office they will pick up their cheque at."
The offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. If people can't stop by an office on June 30th, they can still pick up what they need on July 4th. People must present a form of ID during pick up.
There is no word yet if Ontario Works cheques, bank statements, and monthly drug cards will be mailed out again for the month of August. Up to date information will be posted on the county's website and people can sign up for e-alerts from Human Services by clicking here. Those affected can also speak with their client service worker get more information.
