A clarification to a story that ran yesterday on Heart FM, regarding the Bill Mates guilty plea. It was reported that Mates lost his job after a former girlfriend reported his sexual encounter to his employer. Well that employer was the Duke of Edinburgh Award program, not the town of Ingersoll. Mayor Ted Comiskey says Mates' indiscretion through the program's youth trip in 2007, "Has nothing to do, and never had anything to do with Ingersoll." The Mayor says he was "as shocked as anyone" when Mates plead guilty to the charge of sexual exploitation on Monday.
