A fun, kid friendly New Year's countdown is taking place at the Ingersoll Arena.
INGERSOLL - Kids can experience all the fun of the New Year's Eve Countdown without staying up until midnight like the grown ups!
The Ingersoll Parks and Rec Department and PlayRight Playgrounds are hosting the Family FUNomenon for a fourth year.
Event Coordinator with PlayRight Playgrounds Cathy Cripps says this event is always a lot of fun. "So we have an event at the arena to celebrate New Year's Eve with families and there's a balloon drop at 9 o'clock so kids get to experience the countdown. We also have skating for the duration of the event, a photobooth, face painting, balloon twisting. We also have food available which is hot dogs and pop and chips and chocolate bars. There will also be crafts."
The cost to experience the family friendly countdown is $5 per person, or $25 per family, but Cripps says that money will go to improving the Ingersoll area. "The money raised from this goes towards other initiatives in Ingersoll to expand and improve out existing playgrounds. It's at the Ingersoll Arena and it starts at 5 o'clock - so it runs from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. They can expect to have lots of fun. It's always a great time."
