Carter Morris and the rest of Team Southern Ontario finished 5th overall at the 2022 Youth Challenge 5 Pin Bowling Championship in Calgary.
INGERSOLL - A 14 year old from Ingersoll and his team from Southern Ontario won the consolation round of the 2022 Youth Challenge 5 Pin Bowling Championship in Calgary.
Carter Morris breaks down how his team did at the national championships.
"After the first day, we finished in 8th overall, and after the second day, we were still in 8th place, so we had to go the consolation round, after that, we started to win some games and ended up in the 5th place overall after winning the consolation round."
Morris says it was a great experience in Calgary.
"I learned how to bowl against some top competition, it didn't really hit me until the celebration, it was a great time and now I know what to expect at future nationals and other tournaments."
Morris qualified for the youth challenge tournament in November. Then he was named to men's team to play in the provincials against all of Southern Ontario. His team didn't win the provincials but Carter was good enough to qualify for the nationals.
Morris has been bowling since he could walk. Bowling kind of runs in the family, as his grandparents own Ingersoll Lanes. His next competition is coming up in May and it's a doubles tournament in Woodstock.
