We spoke with Labour Minister Monte McNaughton this morning about how the Ford Government is stepping up inspections for farms, greenhouses and other agricultural operations.
OXFORD COUNTY - Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development Monte McNaughton called Heart FM this morning to talk about some of the new measures the province is implementing in order to protect agricultural workers in Oxford County and beyond.
He says the province is being proactive in stepping up inspections before migrant workers arrive to make sure that the necessary COVID-19 safety measures are being followed.
He says most farmers did a great job last growing season, but there's always room for improvement.
In the interview, McNaughton also addresses enforcement and paid sick leave.
