Dr. Lock discusses the possibility of moving into the red zone and what numbers and trends we should be watching for, the holidays and when the health unit would issue a release or statement about COVID-19 at a workplace.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Medical Officer of Health for Southwestern Public Health, Dr. Joyce Lock joined Cody and Chris for an exclusive interview today.
In the interview, Dr. Lock discusses the following:
- Explaining the trends and numbers we need to watch for to see if we are going to move up or down a level. We are currently in the orange tier and Dr. Lock explains what it would take for us to move up into the red zone.
- What we can do to avoid a lockdown.
- Dr. Lock explains why they don't mention where people work when doing the daily case numbers and they will only mention a workplace outbreak if they feel there is a threat or a danger to public health.
- We ask Dr. Lock directly if she thinks we will be moving into the red zone next week and she couldn't give a direct yes or no answer, other than to say we will watching the numbers very closely this week.
- Dr. Lock provides advice for getting together for the holidays, asking you to only celebrate with people in your household.
- She provides a message to the defiant residents who insist they will not change anything about the way they celebrate Christmas this year.
- Dr. Lock admits the next few months are going to be tough but hope is on the horizon and vaccines should be ready to go next year.
