Dr. Lock discusses the current state of long term care homes in the region, the importance of maintaining social distancing and advice for residents struggling right now during this pandemic.
OXFORD/ELGIN/ST. THOMAS - The Medical Officer of Health for Southwestern Public Health joined Dan and Chris today for her weekly chat with Heart FM.
In the Interview Dr. Lock answers the following questions:
- What is the current state of our long term care homes and how are we doing locally in Oxford County.
- With the new modelling projections showing we are potentially heading towards a best case scenario, does that show our measures are working and can that be dangerous information, if people thing that because are numbers are low, they can resume normal life.
- What advice do you have for residents right now, who are struggling with social distancing and pining at the bits to have life return to normal.
- A listener has asked: what is the risk of walking on sputum or having your dog walk in it, then transferring it to you in some manner say petting your dog or even tracking it into your home. Is it something to be worried about?
- Can the wind potentially carry the virus further than 2 meters if you are out walking and a breeze is coming your way? I have wondered while running.
- Have you heard of a rise in Hospital visits in regard to mixing bleach or other chemicals together?
- Anything you would like to add or any message you want to get out to the public.
