During his interview with Dan and Marcie this morning, Woodstock Mayor Jerry Acchione talked about some of the planning reports that are included in this Thursday's City Council agenda.
WOODSTOCK - The next Woodstock City Council meeting will be all about intensification.
Mayor Jerry Acchione stopped by the Heart FM studio this morning, to chat with Dan and Marcie about the agenda for Thursday night.
"There seems to be a lot of different planning applications for making another lot, we have another one that wants to go from a five-unit place to an eight-unit place. So taking down the old place and putting up a three-storey eight-unit place on Raglan Street."
Acchione says council will also look over a zone change application to allow for the construction of two new restaurants in the GoodLife Fitness plaza on Dundas Street.
"It's a square footage thing. So normally in that zoning, I don't have it right in front of me but I believe it's supposed to be over 1,000 square feet or square metres maybe, but because this is a smaller footprint and the site already has obviously the big plaza with the GoodLife, the Foodland, and the Dollarama there they have already exceeded that footprint."
Acchione was very tight-lipped when asked about the names of the potential restaurants but the planning report in the agenda lists them as Taco Bell and Tahini's Mediterranean Cuisine.
This Thursday's City Council meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and you can find the full agenda online here. You can also livestream the meeting on the City of Woodstock YouTube page.
During his interview with Dan and Marcie this morning, Acchione also discussed the following:
- Last night's Canada vs. United States hockey game at the IIHF Women's World Championship.
- Which classic Tim Horton's donut he would bring back.
- The Toronto Maple Leafs and their rivalry against the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens.
