You can now apply to become a member of the Oxford County Special Needs Resourcing Advisory Committee.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County's Special Needs Resourcing Services are teaming up with Good Beginnings to create a new committee.
They're on the lookout volunteers to chair the board; which has been officially dubbed the Oxford County Special Needs Resourcing Advisory Committee.
Lynda Bartlett, Oxford's Manager of Human Services says it will be their job to shine a light on local special needs services.
"Providing a clear understanding for families and professionals in meeting the needs of families with special needs children in a creative and focused manner."
She adds families who are not currently involved with children's programming may not know about the services available in our area.
Bartlett says the committee can have up to 10 members.
"We're really looking to get representation from throughout Oxford County; whether folks have a general interest in special needs, or they may be parents, guardians or other family members of a child with special needs or someone that works at a children's services agency but has something to contribute to this advisory committee."
