WOODSTOCK - It was an amazing day for a young lady from Woodstock who got spend it with the local fire department.
Emily Dix was the Jr Fire Chief for the day. The grade 1 student tells Heart FM how she was able to earn her new title.
"I won at the Roch the Night charity auction, my dad got the winning bid and then we talked to the chief about what day I could be the chief for the day."
Emily and a friend rode in the fire truck this and the firefighters dropped her off to school at Roch Carrier this morning.
She spent her lunch hour at the fire department and got to order whatever she wanted for lunch, which ended up being a cheese pizza from Boston Pizza. Emily also got to use a fire hose and supervise the firefighters while they did some drills. He mother Kristy says she has been waiting for this day for months now.
"This morning we wanted to get her up a little bit early but she was already up and waiting for us because she was so excited about the day."
