K-9 officer "Jack" and his handler, constable Jackie Lange tracked a suspect for 7 KM before tracking him down in a field near Sebringville.
STRATFORD - Stratford Police K-9 Officer "Jack" is being credited with helping to take down an alleged criminal.
An officer on patrol noticed 29 year old Anthony Atchison on Forman Avenue early Tuesday morning. Atchison had an outstanding arrest warrant on charges of breach of probation, obstruct a peace officer and fail to comply.
Atchison fled on foot after he was spotted according to police. That's when Jack and his handler Constable Jackie Lange were called in to chase him down. Jack tracked Atchison for seven kilometres over an hour and half, finding him in a field near Sebringville.
At the time of his arrest, Atchison was showing signs of hypothermia and was transported to Stratford General Hospital for treatment. Atchison was later released and he was held in custody to attend a Bail Hearing on January 7th
Further to the charges issued on the warrant, Atchison was charged with Breach of Probation and Obstruct Peace Officer for this incident as well.
