Curl for Kids will take over the Woodstock Curling Centre on Saturday February 24th in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County.
WOODSTOCK - Time is running out to register a team for Curl for Kids at the Woodstock Curling Centre.
It's happening on Saturday February 24th this year and it's sponsored by the Cheesy Cow Company. Owner Wes Mazur says there's still time to sign up.
"We've got a couple of weeks left and right now we're sitting about 11 teams. Sixteen is the max number of teams and we need even team numbers to play but we will do it whether we have many or a few. It's looking good, but we do need a fill-up."
It costs $300 for a team to register online here, and all of the proceeds will be going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County (BBBS Oxford).
Liz Wismer-Van Meer, the Communications Manager for BBBS Oxford, says the day will also include delicious food, a 50/50 draw, and a raffle for a PlayStation 5 prize pack.
"Those tickets are $20 and 200 tickets are going to be sold so your chances are really good. It comes with the console, two controllers, the controller charging station as well as the Spider-Man 2 game."
You don't have to attend the bonspiel to buy a ticket for the PlayStation 5 raffle, because they're also being sold at the Cheesy Cow Company and the Big Brothers Big Sisters offices in Woodstock and Ingersoll. The winner will be drawn at the event, and it will be livestreamed.
More information can be found on the Curl for Kids Facebook page.
Wes Mazur and Liz Wismer-Van Meer stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Thursday February 15th. You can listen to the full interview below:
