After just five months in Woodstock, Two Guys And A Whisk is nominated for the Sweetest Bakery in Canada. The contest began on July 1st and it runs until September 30th.
WOODSTOCK - A local bakery has been put into a contest for the Sweetest Bakery In Canada.
Two Guys And A Whisk opened in Woodstock back in February, serving a series of French-inspired pastries, cookies, tarts and more.
Co-owner Tracy Kimmett says it would be great for the Friendly City if they won.
"There's three types of submissions; those are an overall bakery, there's bakeries that do specifically donuts and bakeries that do cupcakes and cakes. So we are running for the overall bakery because we're full fledged of kinds of things running through the bakery."
Kimmett also runs the business with baker Nabil Danha and they are originally from Toronto.
The contest is run by Dawn Food Products, who supplies ingredients like sugar and flour to bakeries across Canada.
He says they're excited to be among the nominees.
"It feels great. We're excited. We've been in business for five months so being the sweetest bakery in Canada and being number three right now is amazing."
They were recently placed behind two other Ontario businesses, Dooher’s Bakery and Wannamaker’s Bakeshop.
Voting is open right now. Kimmett says people can vote either by texting the code SBC5143 to 393939 or heading to the website. He adds you can vote once a day through any sort of device, whether it's by phone, tablet or computer.
The contest began on July 1st and it runs until September 30th.
