You can win over $100 in gift certificates from local businesses in Woodstock by simply voting on Monday.
WOODSTOCK - Several businesses in Woodstock have started a new campaign to encourage everyone to get out and vote on Monday.
Co-Owner of Early Bird Cafe Kate Leatherbarrow says after you vote, you can enter the contest through a video they posted on Facebook and Instagram.
"You can find the video on the Early Bird pages on Facebook and Instagram, basically after you have voted, you can comment in the post using the hashtag #ivotedinwoodstock and you will be entered to win a terrific goodie bag. We have already had several comments from people who voted in the advance polls."
They will pick a winner at random on Tuesday morning. Leatherbarrow says the goal of this campaign is to see everyone get out and do their civic duty.
"I think that we live in a time, where the world is changing everyday, and news is constantly in our face because of social media, it can be a negative and a positive, and I think that we are very lucky in Woodstock and Oxford County to support local. So we thought as small business owners, we do appreciate the community support and we thought it was important to engage people and realize that your voice, and your vote really do matter, it doesn't matter who you choose to vote for and why, but it is really important that we appreciate that we have the ability to vote in Canada."
The winner will win a basket of gift certificates from Early Bird Coffee, Charles dickens Pub, Scotch and Lace, Beantown, Two Guys and A Whisk, Sixthirtynine, Habitual Chocolate and Refresh Cafe.
