Bob Thompson will be hosting a fundraiser tomorrow night ahead of his upcoming season.
WOODSTOCK - Come out and show your support for Woodstock Cross Country skier Bob Thompson.
Thompson will be hosting a fundraiser tomorrow night at Boston Pizza ahead of his upcoming season.
People can look forward to enjoying pizza, pasta and salad buffet for just $20, with $10 dollars going towards Thompson's racing costs.
"I'll have to first attend races in Western Canada at Silverstar Mountain in Whistler; there's expected expenses with that like the travel, the flights, the hotels and even just registering for the races themselves, it costs a little bit of money."
Thompson is looking to have a strong season as he's been training at the National Training Development Centre in Thunder Bay, aiming to qualify for the World Cup. In addition to the World Cup, he also has other big goals.
"The Olympics have always been one of the goals and that's kind of the buzz word a lot of people recognize. It just becomes the big thing most athletes say they're going to get to, but there's a lot of other things to strive for."
The event runs from 5 to 7pm. For tickets, call or text Janet Thompson at 519-536-6659.
