Woodstock police have charged a local man with distribute child pornography, possess images of child pornography and access images of child pornography.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police have charged a local man with charges related to child pornography.
Robert Brooks is facing three charges of distribute child pornography, possess images of child pornography and access images of child pornography.
The investigating from the Woodstock Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the Criminal Investigations Branch is ongoing.
The Woodstock Police Service is a member of the Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet and conducts investigations into Internet Child Exploitation Offences in partnership with numerous Ontario Police Services. This investigation has been made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
Members of the public can report suspicious Internet activities relating to child exploitation to the Woodstock Police Service, or online at www.cybertip.ca. Internet safety tips for parents, children and Internet users are also available on the Cybertip website.
As per a court order, a publication ban is in effect under section 517 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
