WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police Service is once again reminding everyone to be cautious while buying and selling items online.
Police say someone etransfered some money to someone they met online and went to the address they provided in order to pick up the item they bought. Turns out, this person did not actually live there and they deleted their online profile afterward.
When buying items online, police say you should always meet the individual in a public place and you should hand over the money during the in-person exchange.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident should call the Norfolk OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or the Woodstock Police Service at 519-537-2323. You can also submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
