The Ontario Government will be distributing funds to the Woodstock Police and the Oxford OPP.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police and Oxford OPP are getting government funding.
The Ontario government is providing $954,850.26 to the police forces, which will help them provide specialized protection to families and communities in the area.
In a release, Oxford MPP, Ernie Hardeman says, “This funding will help enhance community safety through important programs, while also expanding proactive, on-the-ground initiatives that support individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges."
He adds from the same release, These resources will strengthen the ability of our police to serve and protect all residents of Oxford by ensuring safer streets and healthier communities.”
The funding is being delivered through the Community Safety and Policing Grant Program, and Project SAFE will receive $355,357 to increase efforts to reduce firearm-related crime.
