The Woodstock Rotary Club honoured four people for Making a Difference in our community today.
WOODSTOCK - Four seniors were honoured today by the Woodstock Rotary Club.
They were given awards for making a difference in our community. This years recipients were Kathy Stephenson, David Hilderly, Dave Steenburg and the late Bill Gillespie. David Hilderly tells Heart FM he is very humbled to win this award.
"Very surprised to get this recognition and I am deeply honoured by it, certainly appreciated and I am humbled by it and really pleased to receive it."
Steenburg who is the Program Director of the Peace Project and Youth Unlimited tells Heart FM he wasn't expecting to win this award.
"I was very much surprised, surprised both at being thought a senior because I just don't think about myself that way yet but surprised that what I do would be thought outstanding. I love what I do and I don't do it for recognition."
All of the award winners were honoured for their tireless commitment to the community and the volunteer work they do. The awards were handed out in correlation with seniors month.
