A strike has been averted at one of CAMI's suppliers. The CAW Local 27 reached a tentative deal with Martinrea last night. That was just ahead of an 11PM strike deadline. The London plant makes rear end modules for vehicles at CAMI Assembly. CAW Local 27 President Tim Carrie thanks CAMI workers for their support. "My brothers and sisters at CAMI were extremely supportive through the process, again working together like they did work with us at the EMDC struggle, the Caterpillar struggle. It's so much appreciated and to me that's what the union is all about, us working together." CAMI production could have been shutdown within days if Martinrea went out on strike.
