Ontario has lifted the mask mandates for most settings including stores, restaurants and schools. Masking protocols remain in effect for public transit, health care settings, long-term care homes and high risk congregate settings.
ONTARIO - You no longer have to mask up if you're running into the grocery store, going to the gym or going out for dinner.
Ontario has lifted the COVID-19 mask mandates for most settings but they remain in effect for public transit, health care, long-term care homes, retirement homes and high risk congregate settings such as jails and shelters.
The Ford Government is currently planning to lift all the remaining mask requirements and other COVID-19 health and safety measures on April 27th.
The province is also lifting the mask mandates for schools starting today and it's no longer requiring cohorting and physical distancing in schools. The Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School Board have both stated that they will highly encourage masking their schools, but the decision to mask up will be up to the individual. Both school boards will continue to provide free masks to students and staff members upon request.
