Zorra Township Mayor Margaret Lupton is literally going to the dog house. The Mayor is doing what she can to help the community raise $9000 to build an off-leash dog park in Thamesford. So the Mayor is going on the leash today, at a "Dog Bazaar" in the Thamesford Library. It runs from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm today (Saturday) and is a fundraiser for the dog park. Organizer Linda Collier says the Mayor chained up will be a sight to behold. "People are going to have to come bail her out and raise the funds to get her out of that dog house and than the funds are going to go towards creating the dog park". But as Mayor Lupton tells Heart FM, she's not sure people will pay to bail her out. "I have been making a plea with a lot of my friends and a lot of the meetings I go to but what is really worrying to me is most of them would give the money to keep me in". Collier says residents can either pay to "bail" Mayor Lupton out or keep her in the dog house. The funds raised for the dog park will pay for the fencing and gates required to properly build the leash free area in Thamesford's Grace Patterson Park. Council donated the acre of land to the committee. Today's fundraiser will have a variety of vendors selling canine and non-canine goods.
