Oxford OPP assisting in search for a missing 2 year-old girl east of Norwich, in Brant County.
UPDATE: Brooklyn has been found safe but has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
BRANT COUNTY -- A massive search is underway at the border of Oxford, Brant and Norfolk Counties.
Around 7:00 pm Sunday night, two year-old Brooklyn Honderich wandered away from her home on Windham Line 19, near Caley Road east of Norwich.
Brant OPP were called to the home when the parents noticed the toddler was missing. The child wandered off with a dog while in barn with her father; the dog returned however Brooklyn did not. Oxford and Norfolk OPP were dispatched to assist with the search of the rural area, along with canine units and the OPP helicopter.
Oxford Constable Stacey Culbert released a description of the young child. "She is two years-old, about 30 inches tall, 29 lbs she has light-brown hair, shoulder length it was tied up in a ponytail style. She was last seen wearing tan coloured overalls and had some grey Capri pants underneath that and a blue and white striped tank top. The child was also barefoot that last time she was seen."
Police are actively searching an area on Windham Line 19 near Caley Road and Burford/Delhi Townline that is in Brant County, right at the borders of Oxford and Norfolk County.
Culbert says they are asking residents in the area to keep an eye out for the toddler and search their properties. "Check any outbuildings that you have on your property or anywhere where you think a child may hide or seek shelter and then certainly any information we request they immediately contact the Brant OPP 1-888-310-1122."
Culbert further noted that at this time they are not asking for volunteers to help with the search.
