Gopher Dunes in Courtland will host the Canadian Motocross Racing Corp Ontario Provincial Championships on July 9th and the 2016 Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals on July10th.
Some of the best international motocross racers will be in our area for some exciting motocross championships.
Owner of Gopher Dunes Derek Schuster says they are excited to welcome people from afar as well as some familiar faces like Colton Facciotti.
"Colton who rides for us, he actually lives local to us now, he's originally from BC, but he lives in Aylmer now. There's a few other local who will be racing - Hayden Halstead he races for the MX101 team; he's from Waterford Ontario. Along with a couple of the other private tier guys."
There will be two different levels of competition; Saturday is Round 4 of the Canadian Motocross Racing Corp Ontario Provincial Championships, followed by the 2016 Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals on Sunday.
"The first day is the amateur day. The second day is the pros. So for the second day there are two classes of pros, the 250cc class and the 450cc class and they each do practice and qualifying in the morning and the races start at noon. Both classes race twice."
The gate price for the entire weekend is $50 for an adult, $35 for people under 12, and preschoolers are free.
