WOODSTOCK - There will be a new exhibit and programs at the Woodstock Museum this fall.
The exhibit is named "Recent Acquisitions" and it opens this Saturday. It features artifacts and photos that have been donated to the museum over the last two and a half years.
Some highlights of the exhibit include objects belonging to local men and women who served in the Second World War, sports memorabilia, children’s toys, political campaign buttons, and a revolver allegedly connected to the Great Murder Trial of 1890.
Museum curator Karen Houston says the artifacts offer a snapshot of everyday life in Woodstock from the late 1800s to the middle of the 20th century.
"As a community museum we strive to collect, research and conserve significant artifacts that contribute to an understanding of the history of Woodstock and Oxford County.”
The museum is also bringing back its popular escape room for Halloween. The Haunted Manor Escape room will be offered Friday and Saturday evenings until October 31.
There will be programs for children and adults this fall as well, and registration is now open for children’s PA days, as well as adult crafting and baking workshops.
