The Oxford County Library has extended the hours for eight of its smaller branches starting today.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Oxford County Library (OCL) has extended the hours for some of it's rural branches.
The libraries in Harrington, Innerkip and Otterville are now open for an extra four hours per week.
Meanwhile, the branches in Brownsville, Burgessville, Embro, Mount Elgin and Princeton are now open for one extra hour each week.
CEO and Chief Librarian Lisa Marie Williams says the OCL conducted Rural Community Engagement Survey earlier this year.
"More than 600 of our rural library users took the time to share their thoughts on how we could improve services for them. This feedback is invaluable to understanding how we can support their needs for technology use, learning, creativity and more. The extended rural village hours are a first step but not the only improvements we’ll be making based on community input."
You can find the new library hours online here.
