A $100-million development in Woodstock is nearing completion. That's the new Hydro transmission line and transformer station that has been built in the city's south end. Hydro One is expected to wrap up their work on February 20th. Woodstock Hydro's Jay Heaman talks about what impact this will have on the future of the Friendly City. "We have a brand news transformer station that more than doubles the distribution capacity for the city and surrounding area. That's a good thing for economic growth. One of the first things that businesses ask us 'What is what is your service quality and what is your capacity? If we choose to locate in your area, can we expand?' The answer is 'yes' and that everything is improving with this investment." The new equipment increases the city's power capacity to 230,000 volts from 115,000. It also replaces hydro equipment that was 100-years-old.
