Welkin has joined forces with the Oxford County Library in order to create a virtual hub for parents and caregivers.
OXFORD COUNTY - Wellkin and the Oxford County Library are teaming up for a virtual Hub for Parents and Caregivers.
The Hub will happen on the first and third Tuesday of every month starting today, Tuesday January 19th. It will promote wellness for parents and caregivers in Oxford and Elgin. Youth and Family Engagement Facilitator at Wellkin Jenna Mitchell says they want parents to know you are not alone right now.
"The shift to remote learning has not only created increased stress for children in need, but also stress for the families around them. It is really important to be getting that support with other peers, with other people who are going through some of those similar challenges that people never expected to face and now are facing and trying to manage and come up with strategies together."
The program was created by the Oxford County library and Wellkin. Many parents are craving connection right now while they are detached from friends and family.
Parents can sign up and also learn about all of the local resources that are available while connecting with others.
The first virtual meeting is this Tuesday January 19th at 7:00 p.m.
