The City of Woodstock launched their new $85,000 website Friday
The City of Woodstock has a new website.
Development Officer Brad Hammond said the previous site had old technology and layout and needed an update.
Hammond tells Heart FM about the nearly $85,000 site.
"One of the strongest features of the site is the search engine that's been built into it. So it's a Google powered search engine, so for the user it behaves like Google does. It predicts what you're looking for, if you put a spelling mistake in it, it says 'did you mean to say this' but the key thing is it actually returns the results that people are looking for and the more that people use it, the smarter it gets."
Hammond says the site now meets the accessibility standard that will be required in 2020.
He says the city is hoping their new website will help the public interact more with them electronically.
