How do you feel about Donald Trump becoming the President of the United States again?
WASHINGTON - Donald Trump is back in the White House.
He was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States during his inauguration at the Capitol Rotunda yesterday. The ceremony was held inside for the first time in 40 years due to the freezing cold temperatures.
Trump promised to bring a "revolution of common sense" and an overhaul of the US trade system in order to protect Americans. He suggested later on that he's introducing the 24 percent tariff against Canada and Mexico on February 1st.
Trump issued several executive orders yesterday including one that requires the US government to use the term "sex" instead of gender when referring to someone's identity, stating the following during a speech:
"As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female."
The order requires identification documents that are issued by government (ex: passports, visas) to be based on "an individual’s immutable biological classification."
He also pulled the US out of the Paris climate agreement and he issued blanket pardons or commutations for the more than 1,500 people who were convicted of crimes connected to the riots in the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021.
