Today marks day four of the Canada Day Life Saving Equipment Campaign.
OXFORD - The OPP are sending a reminder to protect your head and wear a helmet.
Today marks day 4 of the Canada Day life saving equipment campaign.
Sergeant Ed Sanhuck with the West Region OPP took to social media to share this message. "When a collision happens it's your head that is most at risk. Without a helmet the consequences can be life altering or worse. Every year OPP officers respond to serious collisions involving motorcycles, off-road vehicles, and bicycle incidents where a properly worn helmet could have made the difference. When you hit the ground you don't get a second chance to put it on."
Sergeant Sanchuck provided a few tips before heading out on a ride. "Wearing an approved helmet every time no exceptions, ensure it fits properly and is in good condition. Ride within your abilities and stay in control, protect your head protect your life. There are no second chances."
