Police arrested and charged 24-year-old from Brampton on Wednesday after a Norwich Township business fell victim to fraud in October 2021.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - A Brampton resident has been charged in relation to a fraud investigation in Norwich Township.
A local business fell victim to fraud in October 2021 and reported it to the Oxford OPP on December 16th of that year. Police say an electronic invoice was intercepted by an unknown person.
A lengthy investigation took place, which involved the Town of Smith Falls Police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center.
Officers were able to arrest a suspect at the Toronto Pearson International Airport on Wednesday. The 24-year-old has been charged with fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and laundering the proceeds of crime.
