The patient waitlist for the Norwich Medical Centre is down to just over 100 people.
NORWICH - The patient wait list at the Norwich Medical Centre has dropped significantly over the past couple of months.
Manager of Medical Services AJ Wells says this is all thanks to Dr. Karaminder Gajebasia.
"We had a new doctor that started here in Norwich this past August so for all intents and purposes we've more or less been able to clear the patient wait list that has been going on since about 2015 with limited exceptions."
Wells says about 1,500 patients were waiting for a doctor a few years ago, but only a few people remain on the list at this time.
"We're down to probably just over 100 to 150 prospective patients now which are mostly people waiting for a specific physician here in the office, waiting for a female physician or patients we haven't been able to get ahold of."
The Norwich Medical Centre currently houses four General Practitioners; three full time and one part time. One naturopathic doctor also treats patients at the facility.
The Medical Centre is currently full in terms of physical space for practicing doctors right now. Wells says this the first time he has witnessed this during his tenure. He has been maintaining the patient wait list since about 2013.
