Springford will kick off Canada Day festivities with a parade at 2pm followed by fun activities in the local ball park.
NORWICH TOWNSHIP - There will be a big Canada Day celebration in Springford this year.
Committee Chair Janice Corbeil says a parade will kick off the festivities.
"The parade starts off at 2pm and we are welcoming all kinds of floats, bicycles, and horse people, anyone who wants to participate in the parade. It starts at Biofuel, at the old co-op here in Springford."
Once the parade wraps up there will be an official opening ceremony at the local ball park at 3pm. There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting and a fire firefighter demonstration for the kids to enjoy until 5pm.
Then from 5pm to 7pm people can enjoy beef on a bun with fries and a drink for $10.
Corbeil adds there will be lot's of entertainment throughout the evening
"While the dinner is on we have Fred Hodgson coming in, playing music and singing. From 7pm til dusk we have the Shine Band and the VanMaele Sisters, they are entertaining until dusk and then we have fireworks."
Corbeil explains why she thinks people should attend the celebrations.
"I think we should all be out because it's a wonderful day to celebrate. It's a lot of fun down in the park and you get to see a lot of people you don't see."
