It is a big milestone for the Oxford County Library. They are celebrating 60 years.
OXFORD COUNTY - A special reception will celebrate 60 years of the Oxford County Library.
On September 20th, there will be a drop-in event featuring stories, displays and exhibits showcasing the history of county library services in Oxford. Oxford County Library started in 1965 with 16 branches and seven deposit stations. In 1969, Ingersoll joined the Oxford County Library system, followed by Tillsonburg in 2013. As of today, there are seven of the area municipalities in Oxford that are served by the Library. Those areas are, Brownsville, Burgessville, Embro, Harrington, Ingersoll, Innerkip, Mount Elgin, Norwich, Otterville, Plattsville, Princeton, Tavistock, Thamesford and Tillsonburg.
Every branch in the County is known as a welcoming and inclusive space, which provides information to learn about community clubs, organizations, and events. The branches offer programs and activities for everyone, from toddlers to seniors.
The reception will be at the Ingersoll Branch from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., with formal presentations beginning at noon.
