The scene of the Spicers towing garage fire earlier this month is back in the hands of the business owners. The Ontario Fire Marshall took some forensic samples from the scene to try and determine a cause of that December 1st blaze. It caused over 500-thousand dollars in damage. Woodstock Fire Prevention Officer Jeff Slager says there's no telling on when they'll hear back from the OFM on the cause. "It depends on how busy the investigator winds up...where he gets shipped to and his availability to conclude the investigation. They will start their notes in the interim, but then they're waiting to hear back on any samples that were sent to the Centre of Forensic Science. Hopefully we'll find out something within 3-4-months." In fact, the city still hasn't heard back from the OFM on the cause of the Victoria St. building explosion that happened over 20-months-ago. But for the Spicer's, Slager says the scene has been released back into their control, and they'll be able to start to move on. "The property was turned back over to the owners and their insurance company. They'll be the ones responsible with maintaining the property in a safe condition and deciding what the future of the building will hold, whether it's going to stand or be rebuilt."
