J.D. Power and Associates compiled a list of the top car manufacturers in North America, and a local factory has made the top five.
Ontario has come out on top when it comes to the quality of cars we produce.
J.D. Power and Associates did a survey of auto factories in North America, and with only one exception, Ontario owns the top 5 spots - one of those going to our very own Ingersoll plant.
The top two spots belonged to Cambridge's Toyota factories, #3 went to a General Motors factory in Mexico, Oakville Ford comes in at #4, and the General Motors plant in Ingersoll rounds out the top 5.
Not to be outdone, Woodstock's Toyota came in at #8.
One of the factors to determine ranking is the number of defects per 100 vehicles. The top Cambridge factory had only 17, while Ingersoll had 25, and Woodstock was just behind them at 27.
Overall, Canada comes in at #2 in terms of quality ranking worldwide, just behind South Africa.
