Oxford County is asking people to pick up their Ontario Works cheques in person on Wednesday because of the uncertainty right now at Canada Post.
Oxford County is offering in person pick up for anyone who receives an Ontario Works cheque during the month of November.
The move is being done because of the rotating Canada Post strikes. The in person pick up will be available in Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg.
Oxford County is advising people who receive Ontario Works payments by cheque that the November cheques, including landlord payments, will not be mailed out and will be available for in person pick up.
You will need to show valid photo identification to collect your payment.
In Woodstock, all cheques will be handed out at the County’s main Administration Building located at 21 Reeve Street. Oxford County’s Human Services offices are also located in Tillsonburg in the Livingston Centre at 90 Tillson Avenue, and in Ingersoll at Community Employment Services located at 37 Alma Street.
Cheques not picked up on October 31 will be available on November 1 at the Woodstock Administration Building only.
