WOODSTOCK - The people planning to build a medical centre at 235 Dundas Street in Woodstock are hosting an open house.
The purpose of the Open House is to have residents learn more about the proposed Zoning By-Law amendment.
Current plans for the former Mini Mart are to open a medical centre, which would include a methadone clinic, within the existing building. The current zoning permits a medical clinic and drug store, including a methadone dispensary as an accessory use, however, prescriptions for the medication will be issued within the facility. As such, the use is defined as a methadone clinic and requires a Zoning By-Law amendment to be permitted. In addition to the added use, relief from the required corner visibility triangle is also being sought.
Heart FM reached out to City staff about the Open House. They said this is something the applicant is doing on their own and the meeting will not include City or County Staff. The By-Law amendment will be coming up at Woodstock City Council in the New Year, however, no word at this time as to when it will appear on the agenda, it certainly won't be at the next meeting on January 16th.
The Open House is happening at the building at 235 Dundas Street on Wednesday, January 22nd between 6 pm and 8 pm. You can drop in anytime.
